Why I hate public displays of affecton

In the majority of the relationships there is some form of affection in involved. In the 21st century I like to roughly divide the forms of affection into two ‘types’: online and in person.

The first type of affection I would like to address is affection posted online, on the contrary I do think that it is sometimes nice for a couple to post a selfie or tell the world what they are up to every now and again but sometimes the affection is taken to extreme levels. For example when a couple write on each other’s Facebook walls with hearts of romantic clauses or even leaving comments on each other’s photos confessing their undying love for one another. Furthermore if you feel the need to express your love for a partner or even acknowledge them in your biographies you’re pretty much making me want to vomit up my breakfast. In addition to this if you feel that every other post or more must be in relation to your significant other then maybe you should re-evaluate you existence as an individual. I am forced to believe that when people are particularly public online they are trying to convince the world that they have an idyllic life, in realities who are they trying to convince, the world or themselves?

The second type of affection which I absolutely despise is physical displays of affection. I understand that two people may love each other so much that they may feel the need to touch each other constantly but I really just don’t want to see it, I find it repulsive. I cannot understand or even find a reason why people would want to be affectionate in public. For example kissing in public, for one it is embarrassing, it causes people to look at you, it smudges your lipstick and it just looks pain disgusting. Couples have no excuse for being affectionate in public; they can be to be affectionate in private without an audience which el is a suitable situation for all involved. The observer is involved does not have to suffer and the couple are not made a spectacle as they exchange saliva.

Overall, I feel that public displays of affection can be offensive to many people from many cultures and ages.  For example in the Middle East public displays of affection are condemned as an act of kissing is considered public indecency. This is just one example where an act of affection is not deemed acceptable. Not only this but, acts of public affection also remind all of us single people why we are ugly, bitter and as a result will be condemned to a lifetime of eternal loneliness. Maybe I am jealous (probably), maybe I am deluded but whether I am single or committed my stomach cannot tolerate a high level of public affection for anyone.  IT’S JUST ANNOYING!!!

Always,
